Located in the heart of England, amid the rolling countryside of Brixworth, Northamptonshire, where heritage meets craftsmanship, our vineyard planted in 2019 carries a story.
More than a name, Merry Tom is a story of land, legacy, and family.
Once the noble steed of the 5th Earl Spencer, Merry Tom thundered across these very fields where our vines now flourish.
Today, a weathered stone monument believed to honour Merry Tom stands proudly at the entrance to our vineyard - a quiet sentinel linking past to present. Nestled beside it, and almost concealed by time and undergrowth, lies an old stone trough. Once a vital stop for horses making their way through the undulating hills of Northamptonshire, it served as a place of rest and refreshment. Though no longer in daily use, it remains a poignant symbol of the land’s equestrian past - an enduring reminder of the noble creatures and stories that came before the vines.

Will is at the heart of everything here – a fifth-generation farmer with an instinct for building, creating, and bringing ideas to life. Raised in the countryside, his connection to the land runs deep, shaped by years of experience and a natural drive to make things happen. Before the vineyard began, he was preparing to sail solo around the world, until life took a different turn. That shift led to something more rooted, and ultimately, more lasting.
We’ve built a life shaped by a shared love of nature, a respect for craft, and a belief in creating something meaningful. The vineyard is a natural extension of that – a place where our skills, instincts, and ambitions come together.
Merry Tom is the result of that partnership: a long-term vision to produce exceptional English still wines, grown with patience, care, and a deep respect for the land.
Family sits at the centre of it all. This is more than a vineyard – it’s something we’re building for the future. A legacy in the making, and one we hope will continue for generations to come.
