THE VINEYARD

At Merry Tom, we believe that exceptional wine begins in the vineyard. Nestled in the rolling hills of Brixworth, Northamptonshire, our family run single estate is rooted in both tradition and innovation. Established in 2019, our first harvest in 2023 marked the beginning of a new chapter.

The Land

Our vines thrive in distinctive ironstone soil, renowned for its excellent drainage and mineral richness — qualities that impart depth, structure, and complexity to our wines. This unique terroir, combined with meticulous vineyard care, allows us to produce fruit with a perfect balance of ripeness, vibrant acidity, and finesse.

Planted on south-facing slopes that capture the gentle warmth of the English sun, encouraging a slow, steady ripening process enhancing the nuanced flavours that define every bottle of Merry Tom.

Our vineyard is open by appointment only - for more information please contact us.

Rooted In Tradition, Guided by Innovation

While our roots are grounded in traditional farming values, our approach is practical, innovative, and forward-thinking.

We embrace machine harvesting to protect the integrity of our fruit during crucial harvest windows - an essential advantage when working with Britain’s famously unpredictable weather. This modern approach also allows us to selectively harvest only the grapes at optimal ripeness, ensuring quality at every step.

Crafted With Care, Created to Celebrate

At Merry Tom, we oversee every detail — from soil to cellar — to craft wines of distinction and character. Just five minutes from our vineyard, our own winery allows us to preserve the freshness and finesse that define our wines, with complete control from first pressing to final bottling.

We work exclusively with estate-grown grapes, ensuring every bottle is a true expression of our soil, our climate, and our commitment to quality. The result: wines that are pure, elegant, and unmistakably British — crafted to elevate every moment.

Varietals

At Merry Tom, each varietal we grow has been thoughtfully chosen to flourish in the unique character of our English terroir.

We cultivate Bacchus, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Précoce, and Solaris; grape varieties celebrated for their ability to thrive in our cool climate.

These exceptional varietals allow us to craft both still and sparkling wines that embody the purity, balance, and craftsmanship that define our estate.

“A hidden gem in the heart of Northampton - A must-visit for any wine lover.”
